Job Description

Mayfair Clubs is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Tennis Court Sweeper & Line Painter to join our maintenance team in North York. This vital role is responsible for ensuring our outdoor and indoor tennis courts are kept in pristine condition, providing an optimal playing surface for our members. You will perform daily cleaning, sweeping, and precise line painting to meet professional standards, contributing directly to the quality of our members’ experience. This is an on-site position requiring a commitment to physical work and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily sweeping and debris removal from all tennis courts (hard, clay, or other surfaces) to maintain cleanliness and playability.
  • Execute precise and accurate line painting and re-painting on tennis courts according to official regulations and club standards.
  • Monitor court conditions, identify areas needing repair or special attention, and report findings to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Clean and maintain tennis court equipment, including nets, posts, and surrounding areas.
  • Assist with seasonal court preparation and closing procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and use appropriate protective equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and line painting materials, informing supervisors when reordering is necessary.
  • Perform other general maintenance tasks as assigned to support club operations.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including sweeping, bending, and lifting.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in task execution, particularly with line painting.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures for handling cleaning and painting materials.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in groundskeeping or maintenance, especially within a sports facility.
  • Familiarity with tennis court maintenance techniques and equipment.
  • Knowledge of tennis court dimensions and line marking standards.
