Job Description

Floor & Decor is seeking a motivated and hands-on Click-Laminate Flooring Assistant to support our experienced installation professionals in Overland Park, Kansas. This entry-level position is perfect for someone with a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, and the physical capability to assist with various tasks on job sites. You will gain valuable experience in all aspects of click-laminate flooring installation, from preparation and material handling to assisting with the actual fitting and finishing. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead installers with the preparation of subfloors, including cleaning, leveling, and applying underlayment.
  • Help transport, organize, and prepare click-laminate flooring materials and tools at job sites.
  • Learn and assist in the cutting, fitting, and installation of click-laminate planks according to project specifications.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed on the job site.
  • Support in post-installation cleanup, including debris removal and tool organization.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Communicate effectively with lead installers and team members.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions.
  • Basic understanding of measurements and angles (or willingness to learn quickly).
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Punctuality and a professional attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a physically demanding role or construction environment.
  • Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
