Job Description

We are seeking an empathetic and proactive WFH Community Moderator to join our team and help foster a vibrant, supportive, and safe online environment for Buffer users across various platforms. In this 100% remote role, you will be the friendly face of Buffer, engaging with our community, answering questions, moderating discussions, and ensuring a positive user experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and moderate user-generated content across Buffer's online forums, social media groups, and community platforms.
  • Respond to user inquiries, comments, and feedback in a timely, professional, and empathetic manner.
  • Enforce community guidelines and policies, taking appropriate action on rule violations.
  • Identify and escalate sensitive or complex issues to relevant internal teams.
  • Proactively engage with community members, sparking discussions and building relationships.
  • Assist in developing and refining community moderation strategies and best practices.
  • Collect and report on community feedback to help inform product development and content strategies.
  • Stay informed about platform changes, industry trends, and user behavior to maintain effective moderation.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proven ability to maintain composure and professional demeanor in challenging online interactions.
  • Strong understanding of online community dynamics and best practices for moderation.
  • Proficiency with various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and online forum software.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (1+ years) in online community management or content moderation.
  • Familiarity with Buffer's products and services.
  • Experience with customer support tools or CRM systems.
  • A background in digital marketing or social media marketing.
