Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection, rotation, repair, and replacement of tires on various FedEx vehicles, including vans, trucks, and trailers.
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment to mount, balance, and dismount tires safely and efficiently.
- Inspect tire treads, sidewalls, and valves for wear, damage, and proper inflation, recommending necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of tire service, including dates, types of service performed, and parts used.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company guidelines during tire service operations.
- Assist with inventory management of tires and related parts, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding vehicle status and potential issues.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Basic understanding of tools and equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy tires and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
