Job Description

We are seeking a highly creative and skilled Foley Artist to join our dynamic sound post-production team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sound design, exceptional timing, and the ability to bring a wide range of sounds to life for film and television projects. You will work in a collaborative and inspiring environment, contributing essential audio elements that enhance storytelling and audience immersion. This role requires a keen ear, innovative problem-solving, and a deep understanding of the emotional impact of sound.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and record a wide variety of sounds (footsteps, clothing rustles, object manipulation, environmental textures) to picture, meticulously syncing actions to visual cues.
  • Collaborate closely with Sound Designers, Mixers, and Directors to understand the specific creative vision and sonic needs of each project.
  • Operate and maintain a range of studio equipment, including microphones, recording devices, and Foley stage props.
  • Experiment with unconventional materials and techniques to achieve unique and authentic sound effects.
  • Organize and label recorded Foley tracks efficiently for integration into the larger audio mix.
  • Continuously develop and refine personal Foley performance techniques and sound library.
  • Adhere to project deadlines and maintain high standards of quality and attention to detail.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Foley Artist in film or television post-production.
  • Exceptional timing and rhythm, with a strong ability to perform sounds precisely to picture.
  • Proficiency with Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Nuendo, or Logic Pro.
  • Demonstrated understanding of microphone placement and recording techniques for Foley.
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills and an innovative approach to sound creation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a critical ear for sound authenticity and quality.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Film Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience with various film and TV genres, demonstrating versatility in Foley performance.
  • Knowledge of sound theory, acoustics, and audio signal processing.
  • A personal sound effects library or portfolio showcasing previous Foley work.
  • Familiarity with common post-production workflows and delivery specifications.
