Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk with a strong focus on data entry to join our team in New Port Richey, FL. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for accurately processing incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying inventory, and meticulously entering data into our warehouse management systems. Your precision in data entry will be vital to maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring smooth logistics operations. This is an on-site position requiring attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process incoming and outgoing shipments, including unloading, inspecting, and verifying goods against purchase orders or shipping documents.
- Accurately input data into the inventory management system, documenting quantities, locations, and other relevant information for all received and shipped items.
- Prepare shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation.
- Organize and maintain the shipping and receiving area, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct periodic inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies, reporting any variances to management.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments, carriers, and vendors regarding shipment status and discrepancies.
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (certification may be provided/required).
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed to support overall operations.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics role.
- Proficiency in data entry with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or warehouse management software.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience with FedEx or similar logistics operations.
- Forklift certification or experience operating similar material handling equipment.
