Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Python Developer to join our innovative and fast-paced team. This is a 100% remote role, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. You will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and optimizing Python-based solutions specifically tailored to interact with and process data from Google Cloud Platform services. This entry-level position is perfect for someone with foundational Python skills who is eager to learn and grow within a leading global professional services firm, gaining exposure to large-scale data projects and Google’s ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Python scripts and applications to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various Google Cloud services (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Google Analytics).
  • Assist in the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with senior developers and data engineers to understand project requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality and reliable software.
  • Document code, processes, and technical specifications.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Python libraries, Google Cloud technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Support existing data solutions and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Python programming language.
  • Familiarity with fundamental data structures and algorithms.
  • Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL.
  • Knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with any Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow).
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with data manipulation libraries such as Pandas.
  • Completed relevant online courses or personal projects showcasing Python and data skills.
