Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Roll-Off Truck Operator to join our environmental services team in Greensboro, NC. As a Roll-Off Truck Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a roll-off truck to transport various waste materials, including construction debris, demolition waste, and other solid waste, to designated disposal facilities. This is a critical role that requires excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate will have a stable work history and a proven track record of reliable heavy equipment operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a roll-off truck in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Hook and unhook roll-off containers, ensuring proper securement before transport.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any deficiencies.
- Transport waste materials to landfills, transfer stations, or recycling facilities.
- Maintain accurate records of routes, mileage, and materials transported.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations related to waste transportation and disposal.
- Ensure cleanliness and basic maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly.
- Provide excellent customer service during interactions with clients at pickup and delivery sites.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating roll-off trucks or similar heavy commercial vehicles.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and climbing.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Punctual and reliable.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in the waste management or environmental services industry.
- Familiarity with the Greensboro, NC service area.
- Current medical card.
