Job Description

Are you a reliable and hardworking individual looking for a part-time role that fits around school hours? Chartwells is seeking a dedicated School Kitchen Dishwasher to join our vibrant catering team in Colchester. This role is crucial in maintaining the hygiene and cleanliness standards of our school kitchens, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for our staff and students. You will be responsible for washing dishes, cutlery, and kitchen equipment, assisting with general kitchen tidiness, and supporting the catering team during busy service times. This position is term-time only, offering daytime hours, perfect for those seeking work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Handwash pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils not suitable for the dishwasher.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment, crockery, and cutlery are thoroughly cleaned, sanitised, and stored correctly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen area, including floors, surfaces, and sinks.
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks when required, under supervision.
  • Empty bins and manage waste according to hygiene regulations.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations.
  • Support the catering team with general duties as needed to ensure smooth service.
