Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and skilled Outdoor Wood Maintenance Specialist to join our growing team in Geelong. This role is crucial for preserving and enhancing the beauty and longevity of outdoor wooden structures for our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including preparing surfaces, applying oils, stains, and protective coatings to decks, fences, pergolas, and other exterior timber features.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, clean, and prepare outdoor wooden surfaces for treatment.
- Apply wood oils, stains, and sealants using brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
- Ensure consistent coverage and adherence to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform minor repairs to timber surfaces as needed prior to treatment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including proper disposal of materials.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding project status and requirements.
- Operate and maintain a range of tools and equipment safely.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in wood preparation and application of oils/stains.
- Knowledge of different wood types and appropriate treatment methods.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid Australian driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or vocational training in painting, carpentry, or related field.
- Experience with power washing and surface restoration.
- Familiarity with local building codes and environmental regulations.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
