Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Analytical Chemist with a strong focus on modern instrumentation to join our dynamic team in Wesley Chapel, Florida. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of chemical analyses using advanced analytical techniques to support quality control, R&D, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain sophisticated analytical instrumentation, including GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, ICP-MS, FTIR, and UV-Vis spectrophotometers.
- Develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods for various sample matrices in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Perform routine and non-routine chemical analyses of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Interpret complex analytical data, troubleshoot instrument issues, and provide accurate, timely reports.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, GLP, ISO, and other relevant regulatory standards and internal quality systems.
- Participate in out-of-specification (OOS) investigations and root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records, documentation, and sample tracking.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance.
- Stay current with advancements in analytical chemistry, instrumentation, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
- 3+ years of experience in an analytical laboratory setting, preferably in a regulated environment.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting modern analytical instrumentation (e.g., GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, ICP-MS).
- Strong understanding of analytical method development and validation principles.
- Excellent data interpretation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and electronic notebook systems.
- Adherence to quality control procedures and regulatory guidelines (cGMP/GLP).
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a closely related scientific field.
- Demonstrated experience with advanced chromatographic and mass spectrometric techniques.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis software for comprehensive data evaluation.
- Previous experience in a contract research organization (CRO) or the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
- Proven ability to train junior chemists and contribute to method transfer.
