Job Description

Baptcare is offering an incredible opportunity to join our compassionate team in Geelong as a Care Assistant. This entry-level position requires no prior experience, as we provide full, accredited training, including your Care Certificate. You will gain invaluable skills, become part of a supportive community, and help individuals live fulfilling lives. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily personal care activities, including showering, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support residents with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Help with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
  • Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship.
  • Monitor and report any changes in residents' physical or emotional well-being to senior staff.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
  • Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and organisational policies.

Required Skills

  • Genuine empathy and a compassionate nature.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and commit to comprehensive training.
  • Physical capability to perform care duties (e.g., lifting, standing for extended periods).
  • A valid Australian driver's license (desirable but not essential).

Preferred Qualifications

  • No formal qualifications required – full training provided!
  • Previous volunteer experience in a care setting is a plus.
  • Basic computer literacy.
