Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart a rewarding career in healthcare? Walgreens in Pasco, WA is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals for our Pharmacy Tech Trainee program. This entry-level position is perfect for those with little to no prior experience in a pharmacy setting. We provide comprehensive on-the-job training to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to become a certified Pharmacy Technician. You’ll work closely with our experienced pharmacists, assisting with prescription fulfillment, customer service, and various pharmacy operations, all while making a tangible difference in our community’s health.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications, under direct supervision.
- Process patient information and prescription orders accurately into the pharmacy computer system.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering patient questions and addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including stocking shelves, monitoring expiration dates, and assisting with order placement.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with all safety and sanitation standards.
- Support the pharmacist in administrative tasks, such as answering phones and processing insurance claims.
- Learn and adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to pharmacy practice.
- Participate actively in all required training and certification programs to advance to a certified Pharmacy Technician role.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Willingness to learn and commit to a structured training program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Demonstrated interest in healthcare or pharmacy.
- Bilingual skills (especially Spanish) are a plus.
