Job Description
Are you passionate about great food and excellent customer service? Tesco in Penzance is looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as a Personal Grocery Shopper. In this flexible role, you will be the face of our online shopping experience, carefully selecting groceries, ensuring quality and freshness, and delivering them to our customers’ homes. This is a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive the best possible service and products, making their lives a little easier. You’ll be responsible for picking orders accurately and efficiently, maintaining high standards of presentation, and delivering with a smile.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack customer online grocery orders within specified timeframes.
- Ensure the quality, freshness, and suitability of all items selected, checking for best-before dates and damage.
- Safely and courteously deliver groceries to customer homes, representing Tesco professionally.
- Handle customer queries or issues efficiently and escalate as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organised shopping environment.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Assist with store tasks during quieter periods or as directed by management.
Required Skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and helpful approach.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Full valid UK driving licence (minimum 1 year experience).
- Access to a reliable vehicle suitable for grocery delivery.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 20kg).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or a similar delivery role.
- Knowledge of local Penzance and surrounding areas.
- Basic understanding of food handling and safety principles.
