Job Description

Are you passionate about storytelling and meticulous about language? Ubisoft is seeking a dedicated Remote Game Script Tester with a keen eye for narrative and text. In this fully remote role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the quality and integrity of our game scripts, dialogues, lore, and in-game text. You will be responsible for identifying linguistic errors, narrative inconsistencies, and ensuring overall textual excellence across our diverse portfolio of games. Key Responsibilities

  • Review and test in-game scripts, dialogues, quest logs, UI text, and all other textual content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and linguistic accuracy.
  • Identify and report narrative inconsistencies, plot holes, character voice deviations, and lore discrepancies within the game scripts.
  • Verify localization quality by comparing translated text with original English (if applicable) for accuracy and cultural relevance.
  • Ensure compliance with project-specific style guides, terminology, and brand voice.
  • Provide clear, concise, and actionable feedback and bug reports in our issue tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with narrative designers, writers, localization teams, and QA specialists to resolve textual issues.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings, providing updates on testing progress and challenges.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding unreleased game content and project details.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional command of the English language (written and verbal), with a strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and style.
  • Proven ability to identify and articulate complex narrative issues and linguistic errors.
  • High attention to detail and a methodical approach to task execution.
  • Strong passion for video games and an understanding of game narratives and lore.
  • Proficiency with common office software (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in copy editing, proofreading, content writing, or a similar language-focused role.
  • Familiarity with game development pipelines and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience with bug tracking software (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla) and version control systems.
  • Background in creative writing, literature, linguistics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
