Anchor Hanover is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Night Carer (Entry Level) in Kingston upon Hull. This is an incredible opportunity for someone with no prior experience to step into the care sector, supported by comprehensive training and a welcoming team. We offer premium night rates and the opportunity for sleep-in shifts, ensuring you are well-compensated for your vital work. You will play a crucial role in supporting our residents through the night, providing comfort, dignity, and peace of mind.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred care to residents throughout the night, respecting their individual needs and preferences.
  • Assist residents with personal care tasks, including washing, dressing, and toileting, maintaining their dignity at all times.
  • Monitor residents' well-being and health status, reporting any changes or concerns to the senior night staff.
  • Help residents with mobility and repositioning, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Support residents with any needs during the night, such as responding to call bells promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records and documentation.
  • Participate in handovers with the day staff, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents.

Required Skills

  • No previous care experience required – full training will be provided.
  • A genuine desire to help and care for older people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team during night shifts.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills for record-keeping.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or working towards).
  • Experience working night shifts in any sector.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults.
