Job Description
Join the dedicated team at UPS as a Courier Associate. This vital role involves the safe and efficient delivery and pickup of packages, ensuring excellent customer service at every stop. You will be provided with a professional uniform and operate a company-owned vehicle, becoming a crucial link in connecting our customers to their deliveries. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a UPS delivery vehicle to deliver and pick up packages in assigned areas.
- Sort and load packages onto the delivery vehicle according to delivery sequence.
- Verify the accuracy of package information and obtain recipient signatures.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving delivery issues courteously.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and good operating condition of the assigned vehicle.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines and schedules.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 70 lbs (32 kg).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Punctual and reliable.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a delivery or customer service role.
- Familiarity with the Hialeah and surrounding Miami-Dade county areas.
