Job Description
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical Cybersecurity Data Annotator to join our remote team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for meticulously classifying and labeling vast amounts of cybersecurity data, including network traffic logs, malware samples, threat intelligence reports, and security alerts. Your work will directly contribute to the training and refinement of our advanced machine learning models, enhancing our ability to detect and mitigate evolving cyber threats. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to vital security initiatives from anywhere in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and accurately annotate cybersecurity datasets according to predefined guidelines and taxonomies.
- Identify and categorize various types of cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack patterns.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity engineers and data scientists to improve annotation consistency and quality.
- Provide constructive feedback on annotation tools and processes to enhance efficiency.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and throughput in data annotation tasks.
- Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity trends and threat landscapes to inform annotation decisions.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts (e.g., malware, phishing, network protocols).
- Proficiency in using data annotation tools or similar data entry platforms.
- Excellent written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in data annotation, particularly within technical or security domains.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data manipulation.
- Relevant certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+).
- Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, Linux) and network architectures.
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
