Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and organized Student Document Sorter to join our records management team in Wesley Chapel. This is an excellent opportunity for a student to gain valuable administrative experience within a large healthcare system. The primary focus of this role will be the accurate and efficient sorting, filing, and retrieval of various documents and records. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, a commitment to confidentiality, and a proactive attitude towards maintaining an organized records system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort and file various physical and digital documents according to established protocols and naming conventions.
  • Retrieve requested documents promptly and accurately for authorized personnel.
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of all records, adhering to HIPAA and other relevant privacy regulations.
  • Assist with data entry and basic administrative tasks related to document management.
  • Identify and report discrepancies or issues with filing systems.
  • Prepare documents for archiving and scanning as needed.
  • Support the records management team in maintaining an efficient and organized office environment.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; currently enrolled in a college or university program preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an office or administrative support role.
  • Familiarity with record-keeping systems or database management.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology or healthcare administrative processes.
