Leaf Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented DIY Content Editor to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, editing, and optimizing engaging content focused on Pinterest-inspired DIY projects, crafts, and home decor. You’ll work closely with content creators to ensure all articles are not only inspiring and easy to follow but also adhere to our brand guidelines, SEO best practices, and deliver exceptional value to our audience. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and edit engaging, high-quality content for DIY and home decor niches, with a strong focus on Pinterest trends and aesthetics.
- Collaborate with freelance writers and content creators to brainstorm new project ideas, provide feedback, and ensure content aligns with editorial strategy.
- Optimize articles for SEO, incorporating relevant keywords, internal links, and meta descriptions to maximize organic reach.
- Fact-check and verify accuracy of instructions, materials, and safety guidelines for all DIY projects.
- Ensure all content adheres to brand voice, style guides, and editorial standards.
- Manage content calendar deadlines and workflow to ensure timely publication.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest DIY trends, Pinterest algorithms, and competitor activities to inform content strategy.
- Review and select compelling imagery and multimedia elements to accompany articles.
- Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to junior writers and content contributors.
Required Skills
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills in US English.
- Proven experience with content management systems (CMS).
- Strong understanding of SEO principles and best practices for digital content.
- Demonstrable knowledge of current DIY, craft, and home decor trends, especially those popular on Pinterest.
- Ability to research and verify information accurately.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
