Job Description

Are you a passionate guitar player eager to share your knowledge with aspiring musicians? Rhythm & Brews Music & Art is seeking an enthusiastic and patient Guitar Instructor to teach beginner-level students. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who love music and enjoy guiding others on their musical journey. We are looking for someone who can make learning fun and accessible, focusing on fundamental techniques, basic chords, simple songs, and music theory concepts. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for beginner guitar students.
  • Provide one-on-one and potentially small group instruction in a positive and encouraging manner.
  • Teach fundamental guitar techniques, basic chords, strumming patterns, and simple songs.
  • Introduce basic music theory concepts relevant to guitar playing.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians.
  • Maintain a clean and organized teaching space.
  • Participate in school recitals or events as required.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in acoustic and/or electric guitar.
  • Strong understanding of beginner guitar techniques and music theory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience and a passion for teaching.
  • Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages (children to adults).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience teaching guitar, even informal (e.g., tutoring friends/family).
  • Music degree or formal music education certificate.
  • Familiarity with various musical genres and teaching methods.
  • Ability to read sheet music and guitar tablature.
