Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Allergy Clinic Nurse to join our growing team in Seattle. This is an incredible opportunity for a nurse looking for a fulfilling role with a predictable schedule – no weekends required! We offer comprehensive training, making this an ideal position for both experienced nurses seeking a specialty change and new graduates eager to learn and grow in a supportive environment. You will play a vital role in providing direct patient care, administering allergy treatments, educating patients, and supporting our allergists in delivering top-tier care.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer allergy injections and other prescribed medications following established protocols.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide immediate intervention as needed.
- Perform patient assessments, take vital signs, and document medical history.
- Educate patients and families on allergy management plans, medication usage, and environmental controls.
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring a sterile and organized environment.
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and procedures.
- Manage patient appointments, maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR), and handle phone inquiries.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient flow and clinic efficiency.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control standards and patient safety guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and willingness to learn clinic-specific software.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in an allergy/immunology clinic or related specialty.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, particularly Epic.
- ACLS certification (preferred, but not required).
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
