Key Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced truck drivers with loading, unloading, and securing freight.
  • Learn and adhere to all federal, state, and company safety regulations and procedures.
  • Participate in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery details.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members.
  • Develop skills in route planning, navigation, and time management.
  • Actively engage in mentorship programs and training sessions to enhance driving and operational capabilities.
  • Ensure timely and safe delivery of goods as part of a team.
  • Perform general maintenance checks and report any vehicle issues promptly.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to learn and commit to a structured training program.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical exam.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) or interest in obtaining a CDL.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics or maintenance.
  • Prior experience in a labor-intensive role.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations.
