Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced truck drivers with loading, unloading, and securing freight.
- Learn and adhere to all federal, state, and company safety regulations and procedures.
- Participate in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain accurate logs and records, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery details.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members.
- Develop skills in route planning, navigation, and time management.
- Actively engage in mentorship programs and training sessions to enhance driving and operational capabilities.
- Ensure timely and safe delivery of goods as part of a team.
- Perform general maintenance checks and report any vehicle issues promptly.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to learn and commit to a structured training program.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical exam.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) or interest in obtaining a CDL.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics or maintenance.
- Prior experience in a labor-intensive role.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations.
