Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Natural Products Chemist with a strong focus on herbal and supplement ingredients to join our dynamic R&D team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere. You will be instrumental in the research, development, and quality assurance of our next-generation herbal and dietary supplement products. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of botanical extracts, phytochemical analysis, and the regulatory landscape for natural health products.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced research into the chemical composition and biological activity of natural products, with an emphasis on herbal ingredients.
- Develop and optimize extraction, isolation, and purification methods for active compounds from botanical sources.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of raw materials and finished products using various analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, NMR).
- Design and execute stability studies for new formulations and ingredients.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, quality control, and regulatory affairs.
- Interpret and present complex analytical data, contributing to scientific reports and presentations.
- Stay current with scientific literature, industry trends, and regulatory guidelines related to natural products and dietary supplements.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in natural products chemistry, specifically with herbal extracts and dietary supplements.
- Proficiency in advanced analytical techniques (HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS) for compound identification and quantification.
- Strong understanding of botanical raw material sourcing, processing, and quality control.
- Experience with method development and validation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong team collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GMP/GLP regulations in the dietary supplement or pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge of global regulatory requirements for natural health products.
- Previous experience in formulation development for herbal or nutritional supplements.
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals in the field of natural products chemistry.
