Job Description
Join FedEx Freight as a Pickup and Delivery (P&D) Driver, specializing in Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) operations. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of freight between our service centers and customer locations. You’ll operate state-of-the-art equipment, handle freight with care, and provide exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate various commercial motor vehicles, including tractor-trailers, to pick up and deliver LTL freight.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate material handling equipment, ensuring secure and damage-free transport.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs.
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatch, and fellow team members.
- Represent FedEx Freight professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- HazMat and Tanker endorsements (or willingness to obtain)
- Clean driving record
- Ability to lift, push, and pull freight weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of verifiable Class A CDL driving experience
- Experience with LTL freight operations
- Forklift certification
- High school diploma or GED
