Job Description
Are you passionate about gaming and meticulous about quality? The Apex Legends Performance Team at Electronic Arts is looking for a Junior Quality Analyst to help ensure our players have the smoothest, most enjoyable experience possible. In this role, you will be instrumental in identifying, documenting, and verifying performance-related issues within Apex Legends. You’ll work closely with developers and senior QA analysts to maintain the high standards of a globally recognized title. This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring QA professional to jumpstart their career in the dynamic video game industry, focusing specifically on game performance and optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute detailed test plans and test cases related to game performance, stability, and responsiveness for Apex Legends.
- Rigorously identify, reproduce, and accurately document software defects and performance bottlenecks using bug tracking systems.
- Perform thorough regression testing to ensure resolved issues remain fixed and new updates do not introduce regressions.
- Collaborate effectively with game designers, programmers, and senior QA personnel to understand new features and performance goals.
- Provide constructive feedback and contribute to the improvement of existing test plans and strategies.
- Assist in analyzing performance data and telemetry to pinpoint areas for optimization.
- Proactively communicate risks and progress to the QA Lead and project stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of software quality assurance methodologies and processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for subtle performance anomalies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with the game development lifecycle.
- Proficiency with bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla) and test case management software.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and testing environments.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- A deep passion for video games, especially familiarity with competitive shooters and Apex Legends.
- Prior internship or project experience in a QA or game testing role.
- Basic understanding of performance testing concepts or tools.
- Exposure to scripting languages (e.g., Python) for test automation or data analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or a related technical field.
