Job Description
Join the Alaska Railroad Corporation as a Part-time Station Assistant, focusing on weekend public transport operations in Fairbanks. Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist passengers with inquiries, ticketing, and baggage handling.
- Provide accurate information regarding train schedules, routes, and services.
- Ensure the station environment is clean, safe, and organized for passenger comfort.
- Assist with passenger boarding and disembarking, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Handle basic administrative tasks, including processing ticket sales and managing lost and found items.
- Communicate effectively with train crew, dispatch, and other station personnel.
- Address minor passenger concerns or direct them to appropriate staff members.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency for ticketing and information retrieval.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Availability to work consistently on weekends and public holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or public-facing roles.
- Familiarity with public transportation systems or railroad operations.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Multilingual abilities.
