Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Product Classification Specialist to join our dynamic E-commerce AI team in Leicester. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for meticulously classifying products within our vast catalogue, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all data points. Your work will directly feed into our AI-driven systems, impacting everything from search functionality and product recommendations to inventory management and marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a solid understanding of e-commerce product hierarchies, and an interest in how data powers artificial intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately classify thousands of products according to predefined taxonomies and guidelines.
- Maintain and update product categories, attributes, and tags to ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with AI engineers and data scientists to refine classification models and improve system performance.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or inconsistencies in product data.
- Contribute to the development of enhanced classification rules and processes.
- Stay up-to-date with e-commerce trends and product characteristics to ensure relevant classification.
- Provide feedback and insights to improve internal tools and systems related to product data management.
- Support quality assurance efforts by auditing classified products and identifying areas for improvement.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in product data entry, classification, or content management, preferably within an e-commerce environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using data management systems and spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets).
- Ability to analyze complex product information and make accurate classification decisions.
