Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring accuracy and proper change.
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, helpful service.
- Assist customers with product inquiries, locating items, and resolving minor issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area and assist with general store tidiness.
- Assist with stocking shelves and merchandising products as needed.
- Promote store loyalty programs and special offers to customers.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety.
Required Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions.
- A positive and customer-focused attitude.
- Willingness to learn and adapt.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 10 kg (22 lbs).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role (even informal, e.g., volunteer work, school projects).
- Familiarity with POS systems (training will be provided).
- Ability to communicate in multiple languages (e.g., Cantonese, Mandarin, Punjabi) is an asset.
