Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Billing Coordinator to join our team in New Port Richey, FL. In this role, you will be crucial to ensuring accurate and timely processing of pharmacy claims and billing. This position requires a strong administrative focus, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining meticulous records. Key Responsibilities
- Process pharmacy claims to various insurance providers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with billing regulations.
- Investigate and resolve rejected or denied claims, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries and issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient billing records, including demographics and insurance information.
- Reconcile daily billing reports and financial transactions.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures related to pharmacy billing.
- Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the billing cycle to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide administrative support to the pharmacy team as needed.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical or pharmacy billing/administration
- Proficiency with medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Strong understanding of insurance claim processing, CPT codes, and ICD-10 coding
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification
- Experience with CVS Health's internal systems and procedures
- Familiarity with Florida-specific pharmacy regulations
