Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Certified Forklift Driver to join our dynamic team in Queens, NY. This is an immediate opening for a full-time position with comprehensive benefits. As a Certified Forklift Driver, you will play a crucial role in our warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods, materials, and products within our facility. Your expertise in operating various forklift types will contribute directly to our ability to meet customer demands and maintain our reputation for timely delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to move products, materials, and equipment.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement of cargo.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas, including storage racks, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and other material handling equipment, reporting any malfunctions or safety concerns.
- Assist with inventory management, including counting, scanning, and documenting product locations.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as OSHA regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and achieve operational goals.
Required Skills
- Valid Forklift Operator Certification (OSHA compliant).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck, order picker).
- Strong understanding and adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Basic computer literacy for inventory scanning and data entry.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a high-volume warehouse or distribution center.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as Amazon's internal systems.
- Familiarity with inventory control practices and procedures.
