Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Weight Loss Clinic Nurse with a strong focus on Nutrition & Wellness to join our growing team in Murray, Utah. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in supporting patients on their weight loss journeys, providing evidence-based education, personalized coaching, and comprehensive clinical care. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, helping patients achieve sustainable health outcomes through nutrition, lifestyle modification, and medical guidance. This position offers a unique opportunity to blend your nursing expertise with a passion for preventative health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial patient assessments, including medical history, weight management goals, and nutritional habits.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating dietary recommendations, exercise guidelines, and behavioral strategies.
- Provide one-on-one and group education on healthy eating, portion control, metabolism, and lifestyle changes.
- Monitor patient progress, record vital signs, and administer medications as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Educate patients on the safe and effective use of weight loss medications and supplements, if applicable.
- Offer empathetic support and motivation to patients, addressing challenges and celebrating successes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with all healthcare regulations.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training related to weight management and nutrition science.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Utah.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Strong understanding of nutrition principles and weight management strategies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach to patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a weight loss clinic, bariatric surgery unit, or nutrition counseling setting.
- Certification in Weight Management (e.g., Certified Bariatric Nurse, Certified Diabetes Educator).
- Experience with motivational interviewing techniques.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish).
