Job Description
Are you passionate about indie games and have a keen eye for detail? Electronic Arts is seeking an enthusiastic Indie Game Tester to join our EA Originals team in a vibrant, creative environment. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality and playability of groundbreaking indie titles. You will immerse yourself in new worlds, meticulously identify bugs, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate closely with development teams to refine gameplay experiences before they reach millions of players. Key Responsibilities
- Execute test plans and identify software defects, bugs, and inconsistencies in game titles.
- Document, track, and retest bugs using internal tracking systems with clear and concise descriptions.
- Provide objective and constructive feedback on gameplay, mechanics, UI/UX, and overall player experience.
- Collaborate effectively with game designers, developers, and other QA team members.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current gaming trends and industry best practices.
- Participate in daily stand-up meetings and communicate progress and blockers.
- Perform various types of testing including functional, regression, compatibility, and performance testing.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for video games, especially indie titles.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with various gaming platforms (PC, console, mobile).
- Basic understanding of software development life cycles and QA methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a game testing or quality assurance role (internship or volunteer included).
- Experience using bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
- Ability to adapt to new tools and technologies quickly.
- A creative mindset and ability to think outside the box.
- Understanding of game design principles.
