Job Description
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Inventory Lead to oversee our warehouse inventory operations in Vallejo, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of all inventory records, managing daily inventory counts, reconciling discrepancies, and leading a small team. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth warehouse operations, minimizing losses, and supporting efficient freight movement. A strong focus on accuracy, process improvement, and effective communication is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of inventory clerks, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inventory cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies, including shortages, overages, and misplacements.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to accurately track all incoming and outgoing inventory.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with warehouse management, operations, and logistics teams to optimize inventory flow.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage inventory holds, damages, and returns processes.
- Operate various material handling equipment safely and efficiently when required.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proven experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and perform physical tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Inventory Management (e.g., APICS CSCP, CPIM).
- Experience with FedEx internal systems and processes.
- Forklift certification and experience.
