Job Description

BrightStar Care of Honolulu is seeking a warm, empathetic, and reliable Weekend Senior Companion to provide part-time social care and support. This flexible role is perfect for individuals looking to contribute meaningfully to their community, offering companionship, assistance with daily activities, and a friendly presence to our valued clients during weekend hours. Key Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and engaging social interaction for senior clients.
- Assist clients with light housekeeping tasks, meal preparation, and errands (e.g., grocery shopping, appointments).
- Engage clients in stimulating activities such as reading, games, walks, and hobbies.
- Offer support with personal care activities as needed, while maintaining client dignity and independence.
- Monitor client's well-being and report any changes or concerns to the supervisory team.
- Adhere to client care plans and document services provided accurately.
- Foster a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for clients.
Required Skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong sense of empathy, patience, and compassion.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a caregiving or companion role.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) program.
- Knowledge of basic meal preparation and nutritional needs for seniors.
