Job Description

BrightStar Care of Honolulu is seeking a warm, empathetic, and reliable Weekend Senior Companion to provide part-time social care and support. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide companionship and engaging social interaction for senior clients.
  • Assist clients with light housekeeping tasks, meal preparation, and errands (e.g., grocery shopping, appointments).
  • Engage clients in stimulating activities such as reading, games, walks, and hobbies.
  • Offer support with personal care activities as needed, while maintaining client dignity and independence.
  • Monitor client's well-being and report any changes or concerns to the supervisory team.
  • Adhere to client care plans and document services provided accurately.
  • Foster a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for clients.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong sense of empathy, patience, and compassion.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a caregiving or companion role.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) program.
  • Knowledge of basic meal preparation and nutritional needs for seniors.
