Job Description
Are you passionate about hair artistry and eager to learn the intricate techniques of balayage and highlights? Chatters Hair Salon in Downtown Brampton is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Colorist to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to receive comprehensive paid training directly from our experienced Senior Colorists and Master Stylists. You will gain hands-on experience, develop your artistic eye, and master the latest coloring trends in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. If you have a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, and a commitment to delivering outstanding client experiences, we want to hear from you. This role is designed for individuals with little to no prior experience, providing all the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to become a successful colorist.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Senior Colorists and Stylists with client consultations and color applications.
- Prepare color formulas and ensure all tools and workstations are clean and organized.
- Shampoo, condition, and provide basic hair treatments to clients.
- Observe and learn advanced coloring techniques, particularly balayage and highlights.
- Maintain a clean and professional salon environment.
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring client comfort and satisfaction.
- Participate actively in all training sessions and workshops.
- Manage inventory of color products and supplies.
- Help with scheduling appointments and client check-ins/check-outs as needed.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Genuine passion for hair styling and coloring.
- Eagerness and ability to learn new techniques quickly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic understanding of customer service principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment or completion of a recognized cosmetology program is a plus, but not required.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Knowledge of current hair trends and beauty products.
