Job Description
Join Freeman Company as an Exhibition Setup Hand, working on exciting national projects across Canada. This dynamic role involves the hands-on setup and dismantling of exhibition booths, displays, and event infrastructure at various venues. You will be an integral part of a dedicated team responsible for transforming empty spaces into engaging event environments. This position requires significant travel, often for extended periods, and includes dedicated travel pay to compensate for your commitment to our national operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently unload, move, and load exhibition materials and equipment.
- Assemble and dismantle custom and modular exhibition booths, displays, and structures according to specifications and blueprints.
- Install carpeting, signage, lighting, and other decorative elements.
- Operate various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other on-site personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Travel to various national project sites as required, often involving overnight stays.
- Assist with other event-related tasks as needed to ensure successful project completion.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Basic understanding and safe use of common hand and power tools.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Canada for projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in exhibition setup, construction, general labor, or warehousing.
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Forklift certification or experience operating other heavy machinery.
- Basic carpentry or technical skills.
