Job Description

BuzzFeed is seeking an enthusiastic Online Content Creator to join our dynamic team. In this unique role, you will focus on developing and editing engaging content specifically tailored for a 16-year-old teen audience. This is an exciting opportunity to translate your creativity into viral content, learn from industry experts, and contribute to a global platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, create, and edit short-form video content optimized for social media platforms (e.g., TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts).
- Collaborate with a small, agile team to brainstorm new content ideas and campaigns targeting Gen Z.
- Utilize popular editing software to produce high-quality, visually appealing videos.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest youth culture trends, memes, music, and online communities.
- Participate in content reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to continuously improve.
- Ensure all content aligns with BuzzFeed's brand guidelines and editorial standards.
- Manage content assets and maintain an organized workflow.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, iMovie, Adobe Premiere Pro).
- Strong understanding of current social media platforms and their unique content formats.
- Demonstrated creativity and ability to generate innovative ideas.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine interest in and understanding of youth culture and what appeals to 16-year-old teens.
- Basic knowledge of copyright and intellectual property rights for online content.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating content for personal social media channels with a strong following.
- Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop).
- A portfolio or examples of past video editing work (even if personal projects).
