Job Description

Join Purolator as a Courier Assistant and embark on an exciting journey within the logistics industry. This ride-along role is perfect for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in parcel delivery and logistics operations. You will support our experienced couriers, learning the ropes of efficient delivery routes, customer service, and safe handling of packages. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead couriers with loading and unloading packages from the delivery vehicle.
  • Support couriers in navigating established routes efficiently and making timely deliveries.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting with package drop-offs and pick-ups.
  • Ensure the safe handling and security of all parcels and company equipment.
  • Learn and adhere to all company safety protocols and traffic regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with couriers, dispatch, and customers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the delivery vehicle.
  • Assist with route planning and optimization under supervision.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs (32 kg) repeatedly.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong attendance record.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently when required.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a physical role or customer service is a plus, but not required.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent) with a clean driving record (for future advancement opportunities).
