Job Description
Are you a recent graduate or an aspiring chemist eager to kickstart your career in a dynamic laboratory environment? Eurofins Scientific is offering an exciting opportunity for a Junior Analytical Chemist in our Little Rock facility. This entry-level position comes with comprehensive, hands-on training on state-of-the-art analytical instrumentation, including High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). You will join a dedicated team, contribute to critical projects, and develop essential laboratory skills under the guidance of experienced professionals. This is a unique chance to gain invaluable expertise with two of the most widely used techniques in analytical chemistry, setting a strong foundation for your future.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine laboratory tasks including sample preparation, solution preparation, and calibration of equipment.
- Learn to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot HPLC and GC-MS instruments under supervision after training.
- Accurately record and document experimental data, observations, and results in laboratory notebooks and LIMS.
- Analyze samples according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
- Interpret and report analytical data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
- Assist with laboratory inventory management and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and quality assurance regulations (e.g., GLP/GMP as applicable).
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific field.
- Strong foundational knowledge of chemistry principles and laboratory techniques.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data recording and experimental work.
- Eagerness and ability to learn complex analytical instrumentation and procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior academic or internship experience in a laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Basic understanding of chromatography principles.
