Job Description
Are you passionate about cars and eager to kick-start a career in the automotive industry? Arnold Clark is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Car Paint Prep Trainees. This is an incredible entry-level opportunity to learn fundamental body shop skills and become proficient in paint preparation techniques. No prior experience is required, as we provide comprehensive, hands-on training from experienced professionals. You will learn everything from surface cleaning and sanding to masking and primer application, setting the foundation for a rewarding career as a Paint Sprayer or Body Repair Technician. We are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a desire to learn and grow within a dynamic workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced technicians with vehicle preparation tasks.
- Learn and apply various sanding techniques to achieve smooth surfaces.
- Clean and degrease vehicle panels thoroughly before painting.
- Accurately mask vehicle areas not to be painted.
- Apply primer and guide coats under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Learn to identify and report any potential issues or defects.
- Support the team with general workshop duties as required.
