Job Description
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Junior Designer with a focus on User Interface (UI) to join our innovative team at FedEx Freight. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional eager to make an impact by contributing to the design of our digital products and applications. You will work closely with senior designers, product managers, and developers to create intuitive, user-friendly, and visually appealing interfaces that enhance the overall user experience for our internal and external platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation of wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for various digital products.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of design systems and UI component libraries.
- Collaborate with UX researchers to understand user behaviors and translate insights into design solutions.
- Ensure design consistency across all platforms and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Participate in design reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
- Prepare design assets for development teams and ensure smooth hand-off.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest UI trends, tools, and technologies.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in design software such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Basic understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices.
- Strong visual design skills with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- A portfolio demonstrating UI design projects (academic or personal projects are acceptable).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS) is a plus.
- Experience with user research methods and usability testing.
