Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Natural Products Chemist to join our research and development team, focusing specifically on herbal and dietary supplements. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere within the United States. You will play a crucial role in the development, analysis, and quality assurance of our next-generation natural products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analytical chemistry, deep knowledge of botanical extracts, and a passion for natural health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive chemical analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished herbal and dietary supplement products using various analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, etc.).
  • Develop and validate new analytical methods for the identification, quantification, and purity assessment of natural compounds and active ingredients in complex matrices.
  • Perform stability studies and shelf-life determination for natural products.
  • Collaborate with product development, quality control, and regulatory affairs teams to ensure product safety, efficacy, and compliance with industry standards (e.g., FDA, GMP).
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues related to raw materials or finished products, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, scientific literature, and regulatory changes in natural product chemistry and dietary supplements.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and presentations of research findings.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to cross-functional teams.

Required Skills

  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in natural product chemistry, botanical extract analysis, or dietary supplement analysis.
  • Proficiency with analytical instrumentation, including HPLC, GC, LC-MS, GC-MS, UV-Vis, and FTIR.
  • Strong understanding of botanical constituents, their properties, and potential interactions.
  • Experience in method development and validation (ICH guidelines preferred).
  • Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and other relevant regulatory guidelines for dietary supplements.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with natural product isolation and structural elucidation.
  • Knowledge of chemometrics and statistical analysis for data interpretation.
  • Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) software.
  • Prior experience in a remote work setting with demonstrated success.
