Job Description
Join our team as a Package Handler and play a crucial role in connecting people and businesses worldwide. This position involves the physical loading, unloading, sorting, and scanning of packages within our fast-paced Schaumburg facility. You will be part of the afternoon shift, working Monday through Friday, ensuring packages are processed efficiently and safely for timely delivery. This is a physically demanding role that requires reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload packages from trucks and conveyor belts with precision and care.
- Sort packages by destination, ensuring accurate placement in designated areas.
- Scan packages using handheld devices to track movement and update shipping information.
- Safely maneuver packages weighing up to 75 lbs, with or without assistance.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (training provided).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to frequently lift, push, and pull packages weighing up to 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to read and interpret package labels and follow instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physically demanding role.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience with scanning equipment or material handling tools.
