Job Description
Are you a motivated and enthusiastic 16-year-old looking for your first job experience? Target in Cedar Rapids is seeking a flexible and dedicated Retail Associate to join our weekend team! This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable customer service and retail experience in a supportive environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our guests have an excellent shopping experience, assisting with store operations, and contributing to a positive team atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist guests with a friendly and helpful attitude, answering questions and directing them to products.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor.
- Assist with stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and ensuring products are accurately priced.
- Operate the point-of-sale system to process transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Support your team in various tasks to ensure smooth store operations.
- Learn and adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially those related to safety and guest service.
Required Skills
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, primarily on weekends.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment (not required, but a plus).
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
