Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Community Center Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of one of our key community centers in Greenwich. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth running of activities, providing a welcoming environment for visitors, and assisting with administrative tasks. With flexible hours, this position is ideal for someone looking to contribute positively to their local community while managing other commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist visitors, providing information about center activities and services.
- Manage room bookings and maintain scheduling calendars for various community groups and events.
- Set up and clear down rooms for classes, meetings, and activities, ensuring they are clean and well-prepared.
- Handle general administrative duties, including answering phones, responding to emails, and maintaining basic records.
- Assist with the promotion of center events and programs, including distributing flyers and updating notice boards.
- Support the Community Center Manager with specific projects and initiatives as required.
- Ensure the center environment is safe, clean, and welcoming for all users.
- Process basic payments and manage petty cash if required.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
