Job Description
Join UPS as a Maternity Support Specialist and embark on a rewarding career path focused on assisting our valued employees through their maternity leave journey. This role is crucial in providing guidance, resources, and administrative support to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience for expectant and new mothers within our workforce. You will be an integral part of our Human Resources team, contributing to a positive and supportive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding maternity leave policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Educate employees on short-term disability, FMLA, and other relevant leave programs.
- Assist employees with the completion and submission of all necessary paperwork and documentation.
- Coordinate with HR, Payroll, and benefits providers to ensure accurate and timely processing of leave and pay.
- Maintain confidential employee records and track leave statuses accurately.
- Provide empathetic support and clear communication throughout the employee's maternity leave.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of maternity support programs and resources.
- Collaborate with HR business partners on return-to-work planning and accommodations.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in HR administration, benefits coordination, or a related support role.
- Strong understanding of FMLA, short-term disability, and other leave-related regulations.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of empathy, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience specifically with maternity leave administration or employee relations.
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification.
- Knowledge of state-specific leave laws in Florida.
