Job Description
Join Follett, a leader in educational retail and services, as a Seasonal Textbook Packer! We are currently seeking dedicated and detail-oriented individuals to support our high-demand operations during peak seasons. This is a crucial role within our logistics team, ensuring that textbooks and educational materials are accurately prepared and dispatched to students and institutions across the region. As a Textbook Packer, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of educational materials. Your daily tasks will involve picking items from inventory, carefully packing them according to established guidelines, and preparing them for shipment. Attention to detail is paramount to ensure the correct books reach their intended destinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and scan textbooks and other educational materials from warehouse shelves.
- Inspect items for quality and report any damages or discrepancies.
- Carefully pack textbooks into boxes, ensuring proper cushioning and protection to prevent damage during transit.
- Apply shipping labels and prepare packages for dispatch.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Assist with inventory counts and restocking as needed.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 30 lbs consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations or willingness to learn.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable transportation to our Vallejo facility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, packing, or distribution environment.
- Familiarity with scanning equipment and inventory systems.
- High school diploma or GED.
