Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Part-time Weekend Bus Driver to join our team in New Port Richey, FL. This role involves operating transit buses on regional routes primarily during weekends, ensuring the safe and timely transportation of passengers. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Operate transit buses safely and efficiently on assigned weekend regional routes.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and federal/state regulations.
- Assist passengers, including those with disabilities, with boarding and alighting.
- Collect fares, issue transfers, and maintain accurate passenger counts.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus and report any mechanical issues.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and passengers.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior.
- Handle unexpected situations with professionalism and calm, ensuring passenger safety.
- Provide general information about routes, schedules, and fares to passengers.
Required Skills
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with Passenger (P) endorsement.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical ability to operate a large vehicle, including sitting for extended periods and assisting passengers.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience as a professional bus driver or commercial vehicle operator.
- Familiarity with Pasco County regional routes and roadways.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
