Job Description
Embark on an extraordinary career as a Cruise Ship Musician with Carnival Cruise Line. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to travel the world while doing what you love. As a key part of our onboard entertainment team, you will perform for diverse audiences, bringing joy and excitement to thousands of guests. We are looking for highly skilled and versatile musicians who can adapt to various musical styles and performance settings, from solo acts to ensemble performances. This role includes all travel expenses, comfortable living accommodations, and meals, allowing you to focus purely on your passion for music and entertainment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regularly scheduled musical sets as a soloist or as part of an ensemble in various venues onboard the ship.
- Rehearse diligently to maintain high performance standards and prepare new material.
- Collaborate effectively with other musicians, singers, and entertainment staff.
- Engage with guests in a professional and friendly manner, contributing to a positive onboard atmosphere.
- Maintain instruments and equipment, ensuring they are in excellent working condition.
- Adhere to shipboard regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Participate in sound checks and technical rehearsals as required.
- Be flexible with performance schedules and locations as dictated by cruise itineraries.
Required Skills
- Exceptional proficiency on primary instrument (e.g., piano, guitar, bass, drums, saxophone, violin, vocals).
- Strong sight-reading abilities and improvisational skills.
- Extensive repertoire covering multiple genres (e.g., jazz, pop, rock, classical, show tunes).
- Proven ability to perform confidently in front of live audiences.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Professional demeanor and stage presence.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new material and changing performance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience performing in a professional entertainment setting, especially on cruise ships or in resorts.
- Ability to play a secondary instrument or provide backing vocals.
- Experience with music technology, including synthesizers, loop pedals, or digital audio workstations (DAWs).
- Formal music education or equivalent professional training.
- Proficiency in additional languages.
